The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London
“LEVC is a very worthy winner of the award this year, combining all the elements that we seek to recognise. We have been particularly impressed by their innovative solutions to deliver clean, sustainable commercial vehicles that are improving air quality in London and other major cities around the world, coupled with their world class R&D and manufacturing centre in the UK and recent launch of their VN5 electric van."
Car and Van of the Year Awards 2021
"LEVC has come up trumps with their VN5 van. The VN5 offers a pure electric range of 60 miles, coupled to a clever petrol range extender, which increases range to over 300 miles. Add in an 830kg payload, a city-friendly turning circle and an ever-growing UK dealer network and you have a new kid on the block that's set to make some serious waves.”
WhatVan? Awards 2021
"The VN5 can cover 60 miles in pure electric mode and more than 300 miles when the range-extender petrol engine is engaged, making it ideal for both inter-city and inner city assignments. The VN5 is a versatile and practical van with impressive driving characteristics.”
Automotive Brand Contest 2020
"The famous London cab has always offered lots of passenger space and fantastic accessibility, but what LEVC has done is transform the original into the most advanced zero-emission taxi in the world.
LEVC has succeeded in reimagining this British icon for a new age - combining comfort and use-ability with perfectly integrated communication technology."
"The real test of any new drivetrain technology - especially in a van - is how easy it is to get along with. Thankfully, the LEVC VN5 is just as easy to drive as any diesel auto van, but with far better refinement. For starters, all vans feature keyless starting - simply keep the key in your pocket, press the brake pedal click the rocker switch clockwise to turn the van on, and you're ready to go. Like other plug-in and electric vehicles, you're greeted by silence when the VN5 starts, and the only clue to the fact it's running is the dashboard lights switching off and the van's ancillaries start to run."
"On the move, the VN5 is easy to drive and get along with, behaving much like any automatic-gearbox diesel van. It's a lot quieter, though, and this will surely be appreciated by those spending most or all of their working day behind the wheel. There's some tyre noise at speed, but not much. The instant torque from the electric motors proves to be more than sufficient replacement for the low-down grunt of a diesel engine most van drivers will be accustomed to. And the rear-wheel-drive layout puts paid to any wheel-spinning drama when you do pull away quickly, ensuring smooth and rapid progress."
