London EV Company (LEVC) has today welcomed Hu Wei, Vice Mayor of Hangzhou, China and a delegation from the Hangzhou municipal government to its head office in Ansty, Coventry. The visit celebrates the creation of a Chinese-UK liaison desk based at LEVC designed to further improve business relations between the Chinese region of Hangzhou and UK businesses.

This will allow UK companies to learn more about the Hangzhou region as well as providing a direct liaison between the Hangzhou government and UK business. The Hangzhou government has already set up successful liaison desks in India, Thailand and the Czech Republic. To mark the occasion, Hu Wei presented a commemorative plaque to Joerg Hofmann, LEVC CEO.

Geely Holdings, LEVC’s Chinese parent company, is based in Hangzhou and has already invested over £500m into LEVC since 2014, resulting in the creation of the all-new Ansty facility and development of a range zero emission-capable vehicles. Since 2018, more than 2,500 TX Taxis have been sold and LEVC recently announced the launch of TX Shuttle and LCV, further extending its product line-up with the aim of being Europe’s leading green mobility provider.
