LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) has further increased its presence in Germany, partnering with Hetzler Automobile Vertriebs GmbH to offer sales and after sales support from the city of Kassel, covering the Hesse region.
The addition of Hetzler Automobile Vertriebs GmbH – part of the Hetzler Gruppe – will provide customers in the region full sales and after sales support for LEVC’s TX shuttle, based on the iconic London black taxi and the company’s new electric van, VN5, which launches in Europe this Spring. Following the appointment of Autohaus München as an LEVC dealership towards the end of last year, LEVC now has eight full sales sites in Germany, and three after sales centres.
Joerg Hofmann, LEVC CEO, commented:
“The core focus of our export business strategy is to grow our presence across Europe this year. There is a growing demand for green transport solutions and we are keen to introduce the LEVC brand and our electric commercial vehicles to new customers and new markets. In Germany in particular, our retail representation is rapidly expanding and it’s great to have Hetzler Automobile on board to help deliver our e-mobility vision.”
Martin Rada, managing director LEVC Europe, commented:
“I am delighted to welcome Hetzler Automobile to our expanding dealer network in Germany. As a professional and experienced automotive retailer, Hetzler will provide an excellent sales and service support to local businesses in the Hesse region looking to switch to greener mobility operations.”
Customers in Germany can take advantage of a number of government subsidies intended to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles. The government office, Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), outlines cost-savings for drivers, with potential electric vehicle customers eligible to apply for subsidies to use against the purchase price of LEVC models including the TX and VN5 electric van.
Alexander Host, Managing Director of Hetzler Automobile Vertriebs GmbH, said:
“We are very pleased to be able to offer the innovative electric vehicles from LEVC in Central Germany. LEVC complements our model portfolio very well. The TX Shuttle and the VN5 offer unique variability and are perfect for cities.”
LEVC is seeing growth in demand for its TX products in Europe, as taxi operators and on demand shuttle services switch to greener mobility solutions. TX and TX shuttle are powered by LEVC’s proven and innovative eCity technology, zero emissions capable for 63 miles (101km) yet with a flexible range of over 316 miles (510 km).Based on the iconic London ‘black cab’, these TX models feature a spacious passenger environment with six passenger seats, wheelchair accessibility and a purpose-built partition separating the driver from occupants.
LEVC’s new electric van, VN5, is already on sale in the UK and will be launched in Europe from Spring 2021. Operating in the one-tonne sector, VN5 shares the same bold, distinctive design and lightweight aluminium construction as TX, as well as its innovative eCity electric technology. VN5 can achieve a zero emissions pure EV range of over 60 miles (98 km) and a total flexible range of 304 miles (489 km). The more frugal driver could achieve a 76-mile range in pure EV mode, according to WLTP city methodology* and, with up to 5.5m capacity, VN5 cargo capacity easily accommodates two Euro sized pallets with a net payload of up to 735kg.
LEVC’s global network will cover 21 markets by the end of this year and at the end of last year, more than 30 sales and service partners were in place across Continental Europe.
* Pure EV (electric-only) range 60.9 miles, Pure EV range City 75.8 miles in accordance with EAER Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) figures (October 2020).
