LEVC is powering into 2020

19 February 2020, Ansty

  • More than 100 new jobs planned at advanced manufacturing facility in Ansty
  • New products and international markets set to increase LEVC sales by 50 per cent
  • New van and Shuttle variant of TX Taxi will drive export strategy
  • 20 markets around the world by the end of 2020
  • The London EV Company (LEVC) is powering into 2020, growing its product range, export markets and employment opportunities.

LEVC has expanded its product line-up beyond the successful TX taxi, with the TX shuttle variant and, in Q4 this year, will be launching an all new electric van, taking the successful TX combination of eCity technology, unrivalled turning circle capability and renowned durability into the commercial vehicle sector.

Building on a record year in 2019 with more than 2,500 units sold, LEVC is forecasting a 50% increase in demand in 2020.

In line with the company’s export strategy, LEVC will more than double its market presence, with plans to be operating in 20 countries by the end of the year.

In order to meet the company’s 2020 growth strategy, over 100 new jobs will be created at its headquarters in Ansty, near Coventry.

    Joerg Hofmann, LEVC's CEO, commented:

LEVC is at the forefront of reinventing mobility, by transforming from an iconic British taxi brand to a leading electric vehicle manufacturer. We are at a pivotal time in LEVC’s history. Our strategic direction is on track as we deliver consistent, planned growth and I’m delighted to be able to create new job opportunities this year to support the continuing success of our business

Both the TX models and new electric van use LEVC’s proven e-City range extender technology, with 80 miles (130km) of emissions free driving and an extended electrically driven total range of over 370 miles (600km). The new van will offer a ‘distribution to door’ – not just last mile – service, providing the critical link between out of town depots and city centres with no range anxiety, while the TX Shuttle serves the growing need for on-demand public transport and taxi services.
