LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) continues to add to its dealer network in Germany appointing the 10th dealer partner in the country. Two new LUEG showroom sites will offer sales and after sales support from their respective Mülheim an der Ruhr and Witten locations in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. LUEG group is one of the 15 largest car dealership groups in Germany with over 14,000 units sold per year.
The addition of the two LUEG dealerships will provide customers full sales and aftersales support for LEVC’s TX shuttle, based on the iconic London taxi and the company’s new electric van, VN5 from Q2 this year. Already the dealership has had interest from prospects about purchasing TX for use as part of the Induction charging trial set up by TALAKO (Taxi Charging concept for public spaces).
Joerg Hofmann, LEVC CEO, commented:
“I am pleased to welcome the LUEG dealer group to the LEVC network. There is increasing demand for TX shuttle in Germany and a clear sales opportunity for our new VN5 electric van and we are building a robust sales and service network to support this. As part of our strategic export market focus, we plan to have more than 50 dealer locations in place across Europe by the end of 2021.”
Customers in Germany can take advantage of a number of government subsidies intended to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles. The government office, Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), outlines cost-savings for drivers, with potential electric vehicle customers eligible to apply for subsidies to use against the purchase price of LEVC models including the TX and VN5 electric van.
Frank Uwe Werner, Managing Director of the LUEG entity Volvo Centrum Rhein Ruhr GmbH, said:
“We are very excited to start our journey with LEVC. We know that our region of Germany is the perfect target market for both of LEVC’s vehicles, with our customers highly interested in electric powertrain technology and the benefits associated with alternatives to petrol and diesel. The TX and VN5 will slot into our product portfolio seamlessly.”
Martin Rada, Managing Director for EU operations said:
“I am pleased to welcome the LUEG Rhein Ruhr sites to our German dealer network. With their professional automotive experience and local market knowledge, we are certain that they will provide an excellent service to customers looking to switch to greener commercial vehicles and public transport services. I look forward to seeing TX and VN5 on the streets of towns across the North Rhine-Westphalia region very soon.”
LEVC is seeing growth in demand for its TX products in Europe, as taxi operators and on demand shuttle services switch to greener mobility solutions. TX and TX shuttle are powered by LEVC’s proven and innovative eCity technology, zero emissions capable for 63 miles (101km) yet with a flexible range of over 316 miles (510 km). Both TX models feature a spacious passenger environment with six passenger seats, wheelchair accessibility and a purpose-built partition separating the driver from occupants.
LEVC’s new electric van, VN5, is already on sale in the UK and will be launched in Europe from late Spring this year. Operating in the one-tonne sector, VN5 shares the same bold, distinctive design and lightweight aluminium construction as TX, as well as its innovative eCity electric technology. VN5 can achieve a pure EV range of over 60 miles (98 km) and a total flexible range of over 300 miles (489 km) and, with up to 5.5m capacity, VN5 cargo capacity easily accommodates two Euro sized pallets with a gross payload of 830kg.
LEVC’s global network will cover 21 markets by the end of this year and at the end of last year, more than 20 sales and service partners were in place across Continental Europe.
