Reliable, manoeuvrable and versatile, and handled by only the most knowledgeable drivers, black cabs have long been recognised as the world’s finest taxis. They are now ubiquitous on the streets of major cities around the world, even thoughthey will always have a special association with London.

The latest edition of the TX is the first to run solely on electrical power. Silent and producing zero carbon emissions, the new model offers drivers and passengers everything they could want from their taxicab.

ECITY Technology As well as zero carbon output and compliance with all present and future environmental regulations, LEVC’s sophisticated “eCity” technology offers excellent reliability and a range of up to 400 miles. The lithium-ion battery which powers the new TX has been extensively tested in the laboratory and on the roads to suit the real-world needs of taxi drivers; for example, the health of the battery is unaffected by rapid charging, as opposed to trickle charging. Its build quality ensures that it will continue to offer peak performance throughout the life of your taxi – and if there is a problem, batteries on all models come with a comprehensive five-year warranty.
Driver Comfort An enlarged cabin offers you greater shoulder and headroom. Standard equipment includes electric windows and door mirrors, daytime running lights, and a DAB digital radio. The windscreen, mirrors and windows are all heated, allowing you maximum visibility on even the foggiest day. Rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a host of driver assistance functions also make long working days that bit easier.
Passenger Comfort All LEVC models are fully wheelchair-accessible, with ramps, side rails, and high-visibility grab handles. Inside, a swivel seat and chair restraints ensure maximum comfort for passengers using a wheelchair. Meanwhile, all customers benefit from adjustable climate control settings, an intercom system that allows them to communicate with their driver, and Wi-Fi access.
The making of an icon LEVC’s new taxi is a result of the hard work of over 200 designers and engineers, working from their new state-of-the-art factory in Ansty, near Coventry. Boasting the same classic, instantly recognisable design as its predecessors, the new model retains all the qualities which have made the black cab an institution, in addition to lower running costs, less environmental impact, and more comfort and usability than ever before.
