VN5 boasts the most flexible on-board charging system on the market, giving drivers access to the full range of at home and on street charging points.
With multiple charge ports, it can make use of alternating
current (AC) or direct current (DC) charging facilities – meaning the decision
about when, where and how to charge is in your hands.
Charge ports are located behind hinged flaps either side of
the front grille for easy access from both sides of the van.
VN5 is the only electric van that can be specified with both CHaDeMo and Type 2/CCS charging ports, with the different socket types offering slow (up to 7kW AC), fast (up to 22kW AC) and rapid (50kW DC) charging capabilities.
This gives you the freedom to choose the charging type that best suits you. Rather than being locked into a single option, you have maximum flexibility between speed, cost and convenience.
VN5 is built to be productive. With access to thousands of fast or rapid chargers on the street – as well as home or depot charging – it minimises time spent trying to find a suitable charger. It can also charge fully in as little as 30 minutes†, leaving you ready to continue with the job.
The table below shows the estimated time to charge VN5 from empty to 80% charge, and all the way to full.
A sophisticated on-board system monitors and manages delivery of power into the drive battery, giving the optimum balance between charging speed and battery life. VN5 also features a liquid cooling system designed to keep the battery at exactly the right temperature, in use and during charging.
