German mobility providers are increasingly relying on LEVC's electric TX taxi and TX shuttle vehicles

30 March 2020, Germany

German mobility providers are increasingly relying on LEVC's electric TX taxi and TX shuttle vehicles for their operations during the Coronavirus outbreak. The TX model has a glass partition between the driver and passenger compartments as standard, which completely separates the two areas. The large doors open into a safe passenger compartment and an intercom system with integrated microphone and loudspeakers ensures good communication between driver and passenger during the journey.

The electric transport service CleverShuttle, available in Berlin, Munich, Leipzig, Dresden and Kiel, is currently only providing transport for solo passengers and follows the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute by increasingly using the 20 TX shuttles from their fleet. "The vehicles are in operation almost around the clock," says Bruno Ginnuth, CEO & Co-Founder of CleverShuttle. The goal is to protect the health of the passengers and to remain bookable. Some of the cars that are currently stationed in Berlin are also to be used in Leipzig.

Taxi drivers also seeing an increase in demand for the TX Taxi. In Bavaria, both the entrepreneur Michael Much, managing director of the Much Taxiunternehmen GmbH and Ünal Kücüksahin of the Taxi Center Ostbahnhof have included the TX taxi to their fleet. In Hesse, taxi entrepreneur Jens Marggraf from Melsungen operates the TX taxi as well. As well as recognising the benefits of the purpose built taxi with a partition screen between driver and passenger, they also appreciate the model’s eCity technology, which enables a completely emission-free, purely electric range of 128 kilometres with the flexibility of an electrically operated total range of 600 kilometres, and a quiet, comfortable and luxurious passenger environment.

Joerg Hofmann, LEVC of CEO, said:

"The TX taxi and TX shuttle are designed to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly mobility solutions in cities around the world, and I am pleased that these vehicles can help protect the health of drivers and passengers in the TX and ensure safe transportation at such a critical time".
