Authorised Converter Programme criteria

To be awarded Authorised Converter status, a converter has to:

  • Agree to comply with the LEVC Engineering requirements as detailed within the Vehicle Conversion
  • Agree to train their operatives who interface with the vehicle to a certain level – we use the Institute of the Motor Industry courses as a benchmark though we will move over time to our own LEVC courses (and for one converter in Europe we have already made this move)
  • Agree to provide their own warranty that reflects VN5’s class leading warranty (it is not identical though and in general it is 5 years on their fittings, and 3 years on their electrical items)
  • Agree to be audited at LEVC’s request on both their processes and the output i.e. the actual conversion itself (is it of a suitable standard, does it work etc – a bit like inspecting the repair a bodyshop might do on a crash repair)
