LEVC PARTNERS WITH RAPAID TO ROLL OUT LIFE-SAVING EMERGENCY BANDAGE KITS ACROSS THE UK BLACK CAB FLEET
Ansty, Coventry, 31 March 2026: The London EV Company (LEVC) has announced a new partnership with the charity RAPAID Emergency Bandages to help make life-saving emergency bandage kits more accessible across the UK’s national taxi network.
Under the initiative, RAPAID emergency bandage kits will be made available in new and approved used TX taxis across LEVC’s national dealer network. Over 5,000 new kits will be distributed from July 2026, with the rollout aiming to place critical first-aid equipment directly into vehicles that operate at the heart of towns and cities, ensuring help is always close at hand in the event of an emergency.
RAPAID’s mission is to save lives by placing simple-to-use emergency bandages in taxis so that members of the public can quickly access them in the crucial minutes before emergency services arrive. The kits are designed to help stem serious bleeding following accidents or incidents, buying vital time for casualties until professional medical assistance is on scene.
Taxi drivers are uniquely positioned to support this mission. Operating around the clock and constantly moving through urban areas, taxis can act as highly visible and accessible points of emergency support within communities. Each RAPAID equipped taxi will be easily identifiable with a window sticker, now fitted by LEVC retailers at the point of sale.
Dan Cross, National Sales Director, LEVC, said: “TX taxis are trusted vehicles operating at the heart of communities across the UK. By supporting RAPAID and making these
life-saving bandage kits available through our dealer network, we’re helping ensure that drivers can play an important role in community safety and emergency response.”
Each RAPAID kit contains military-grade emergency bandages, gloves and simple visual instructions so that anyone — even without medical training — can help apply pressure to severe wounds and slow potentially fatal bleeding.
Alexander Chivers, Managing Director, RAPAID, added: “It made perfect sense to put these bandage kits onto taxi cabs that are constantly moving in and out of our community day and night. A severe haemorrhage can be fatal within minutes, so the quicker treatment begins the better your chances of survival. We are delighted to be working with LEVC to expand the reach of RAPAID across the UK.”
RAPAID has already equipped thousands of taxis across cities including London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Oxford and Exeter, with the distinctive window stickers helping the public quickly identify vehicles carrying the emergency kits.
LEVC is currently the only manufacturer to offer a purpose-built, fully accessible, zero-exhaust-emission capable taxi. With more than 12,000 TX vehicles sold worldwide since launch and a history dating back to 1908, LEVC has established itself as a global leader in electrified urban mobility solutions.
The TX taxi is also an inclusive vehicle for all, regardless of age or disability. The vehicle's inclusive design offers sector-leading accessibility, with flexible space for up to six passengers and an integrated ramp helping it accommodate a forward-facing wheelchair. Additional accessibility features include a hearing induction loop, braille switches, a step, swivel chair and high visibility handles.
LEVC’s partnership with RAPAID reinforces its wider commitment to supporting drivers, passengers and the communities served by the TX fleet, while contributing to a nationwide effort to ensure life-saving equipment is never far away when it is needed most.
